Daniel Fawcett, composer, keyboards, percussion, voice, strings

Daniel Fawcett is a composer, sound artist, visual artist and instrument builder from the United States. He is a graduate of New York University’s Steinhardt School with a M.M. degree in music composition where he studied privately with Joan La Barbara and Morton Subotnick. Prior to this, he completed his B.M. studies at Roosevelt University's Chicago College of Performing Arts, studying with Stacy Garrop and Kyong Mee Choi.

He has participated in masterclasses and seminars with artists such as Mei-Fang Lin, Robert Paterson, Joel Chadabe, Charles Nichols, Ronald Parks, Payton MacDonald, John Allemeier, David Dzubay, Amy Beth Kirsten, Julia Wolfe, David Taylor and Judith Shatin. Additional collaborations include include tabla drummer Shawn Mativetsky, violinist and sound artist Aimée Niemann, choreographer Loris Beckles, soprano Eleonora Claps, composer, improviser and percussionist Mohamed Kubbara, Talujon Percussion Ensemble, Black Sheep Ensemble and New Jersey Percussion Ensemble.


His work has been featured at events including the the CCPA Electronic Music Festival (IL), World Electro-Acoustic Listening Room (CA), the Oregon Conference for Graduate Musicians (OR), the Troublesome Gap Festival (NC), the Look and Listen Festival (NYC), Pulsing & Shaking Festival (NYC), the International Computer Music Conference (TX), Annotations: An Exhibit (CO), the New Music on the Bayou Festival (LA) and the Charlotte New Music Festival (NC).
